 General Information

Leaving the Grosseto coastline or Siena’s bare “clayey” land, crags and badlands behind you, depending on where you are coming from, and entering the upper Tuscan Maremma area, which has always been the green heart of Italy, the boundless plain gives way to gently rolling hills cultivated with cereal crops, interspersed here and there by luxuriant olive groves, used to make delicious extra virgin olive oil, and beautiful vineyards that produce the grapes used in the famous DOC* Montecucco wines. Our Agritourism stands in this little corner of Heaven, where visitors can immerse themselves in 100% authentic scents, flavours and settings. This unspoilt environment offers a perfect balance between nature and the hand of man, with some truly unforgettable natural landscapes and plenty of fresh air. It is like taking a step back in time, discovering scents, lifestyles and landscapes from the past.

Our Agritourism is ideal for those who are to do without some of the comforts of modern life, immersing themselves in the traditions of the ancient peasant civilization and spending a very pleasant holiday in peace and quiet, far from the chaos of everyday life. Our apartments have been carefully restored, in complete respect of the ancient architectural and construction features, such as the wooden ceilings and traditional tiled floors, turning them into welcoming, comfortable little houses, furnished with traditional, simple but comfortable country furniture.

In the small rural burgh “La Cava”, nearby the farm, there are two nice and warm apartments “Casa di Carola” and “Casa di Olinto”; two kilometres away from the farm you will find “Casetta Le Calle” surrounded by a green uncontaminated nature.
A washing machine is available for guests in a dedicated room in the farm.

Whoever is interested will have the opportunity to assist and participate to the farm activities and daily works throughout the year. Who loves sport activities will be able to use mountain bikes for adventurous excursions on the Tuscan hills.
The agritourism’s gardens include an attractive swimming pool surrounded by sun beds, deck chairs, sunshades and a well equipped children’s playground.

At the arrival you will experience our warm reception through the visit of our cellars to end up in our lovely tasting room where you will try our “Oil Bruschetta” together with our D.O.C. Montecucco wines, toasting together to your holidays period.

Our Azienda Agricola Agituristica Le Calle is located in the Poggi del Sasso hills, in the heart of DOC Montecucco land, midway between Monte Amiata and the Tuscan Maremma. We chose the name Le Calle because this is the name of one of our plots of land and we really liked it.
The Catocci family has its agricultural roots in this corner of Tuscan countryside. Our ancestors began working the land here many years ago, although we have not been able to establish a precise date, since our family has been farming the land with love and passion for generations.
Ours is a small, family-run company that covers an area of 70 hectares, 6 of which are covered by vineyards and 6 by olive groves. In keeping with the oldest, most authentic peasant tradition, our company’s main production runs alongside other agricultural activities such as the cultivation and production of cereals, Appenninica sheep farming and Amiatina donkey farming
