General Information
Razza del Casalone is an elegant farm house in the heart of Tuscan Maremma.
The farm is situated along the Strada delle Collecchie, a road leading to Marina di Grosseto (10 km. to the seaside). Progressively the city’s outskirt grew closer to the eighteenth century house; the proximity to the town offers a good opportunity to admire the ancient “Mura Medicee” (Walls built by Medici Family, 1 km far away) and the typical allies of the historical centre.
Ideal start point for tours and sightseeing: 12 km. to Uccellina Natural Park, 4 km. to the ancient Etruscan ruins of Roselle; 70 km. to Siena; 55 km. to Saturnia’s thermal baths.
The estate consists of one main large house and seven apartments made in the old sculleries of Casalone breed cattle.
7 FLOWERS apartments (38/40 sq.m.), consisting in one double or twin bedroom with air condition, large bathroom with shower, living room with kitchenette, sofa bed, TV. Autonomous heating. (Flower E has a bathroom fit for disabled people).
In the main house there are other 5 apartments, 2 with 2 bedrooms and 3 with 1 bedroom. None has air condition.
First floor (autonomous heating):
Sughera: 60 sq.m. – 2+2 people: large double or twin bedroom, bathroom with bathtub, living room with kitchenette and sofa bed, fireplace. TV.
Quercia: 60 sq.m. – 2+2 people: double or twin bedroom, bathroom with shower, living room with kitchenette and sofa bed, fireplace. TV
Alloro: 60 sq.m. – 4 people: double bedroom, twin bedroom, bathroom with shower, kitchen. TV
Second floor, mansard roof (autonomous heating)
Pino: 65 sq.m. – 4+2 people: double bedroom, twin bedroom, one bathroom with shower, living room with kitchenette and sofa bed. TV
Leccio: 60 sq.m. – 2+2 people: double or twin bedroom, bathroom with shower, living room with kitchenette and sofa bed. TV.
On the ground floor, a large comfortable hall of about 150 sq.m., with an original brick floor, fireplace, reading corner, is at disposal of our guests, and it can seat groups for meals.
The farmhouse is surrounded by a large garden and a pine and cypress wood, lit at night, and equipped with table and chairs, placed in front of old sculleries too.
Swimming pool (7x15), open from May to September, playground, parking area.
The ha 60 land is cultivated for cereals production. On request, it’s possible to visit the stock-farm of Frisone cows, 4 km. far away..
Cooking facilities allow us to prepare food (breakfast, half or full board) for groups (on a 8-people basis minimum). Cookery courses and tasting of our products. Children are welcome for visits to the farm.
