General Information
"The green, pure Sovara valley, with its nice walks and streams leading off in all directions, midway between the Arno and the Tiber Valleys, at few minutes drive from historical places and towns rich in works of art, like the churches and the castles of Casentino or the Tuscan Valtiberina, where Piero della Francesca lived and painted.
A farmhouse dating back to the 18th century,recently restored with great care and supplied with all comforts furnished in a simple, traditional way a familiar, informal atmosphere, where people who like company can share some good wine while sitting by the fireplace or spend their Summer nights having a good chat under a starry sky, like the Tuscan people of the past
our rooms:
where the past with its simplicity goes hand in hand with the present and our need for comforts; thick stone walls, cool in Summer and warm in Winter; heating system in each room, as well as in the corridors and the other common areas; typical furniture made of wood, in harmony with the strong chestnut wood beams of the ceilings; modern, clean bathrooms...
. take the Motorway A1 and leave at the Arezzo exit. Follow the indications to ""Bibbiena"" (Strada Statale - State Road No. 71, ""Umbro-Casentinese""); after 15/20 minutes drive you will reach a small town called Subbiano. Without entering the town centre, keep following the State Road No. 71; after 2/3 minutes drive you will find on your right the signs to Falciano, Savorgnano and Ponte alla Piera. Keep following the indications to Savorgnano. After about 12 km you will find us!
take the toll-free Superstrada E-45 Orte-Cesena-Ravenna and leave it at the Sansepolcro exit. Follow the sign to Anghiari, and when you arrive at the top of the hill where the town is, turn to the right (indications to Ponte alla Piera) and follow that road; before reaching Ponte alla Piera, you will arrive at a fork. Follow the sign to Subbiano and, after about 6 kms you will find us!
The nearest railway-station is in Subbiano, run by a private company called LFI. Subbiano Station is well connected to Arezzo Railway Station by LFI trains. Town bus service connects Subbiano to Savorgnano and back twice a day, (sundays and holidays not included).
