General Information
On a hillside in the Alpe di Catenaia at 550m above sea level the medieval hamlet of GHIORA thanks to careful restoration has been brought back to life without losing its ancient origins. The old village now has 20 apartments, each with its own fully equipped garden, made out of 5 splendid houses built in local stone (Il Pratomagno, I Mandrioli, La Verna, Camaldoli, La Catenaia).
It is surrounded by lush vegetation made up of typical mediterranean plants, olive groves, pines, oaks and chestnuts. A corner of paradise in the ancient Valle del Casentino, an enchanted isle of old stone and terracotta in an awe inspiring landscape. The ‘ensemble’ of fabulous views, colours, scents, peace, silent pathways and relics of a great past all blend to make this ancient hamlet fascinating. Guests who spend their holidays in these houses restored with such pride and respect for their Tuscan origin can use table tennis and a beautiful 7 x 14 m swimming pool set in gardens forming a natural terrace dominating the green valleys.
