 General Information

San Martino in Val d'Afra is an antique medieval hamlet situated only 3 kms from Sansepolcro, yet is surronded by the natural setting of the Alpe della Luna mountains. Adorned by more than 10 hectares of mature woodlands, olive groves, open meadows, and the cascade rich Afra stream, San Martino is the ideal location for those wishing to relax in the countryside as well as venture into the artistic and cultural marvels of Tuscany. Sansepolcro is the birthplace of the renowned artist Piero della Francesca and the mathematician Luca Pacioli. Caprese, where Michelangelo was born, and La Verna, where St. Francis of Assisi was stigmatized are both within a half hour's drive from here. The franciscan shrine of Monte Casale is a 45 minute hike along the CAI endorsed trail that begins at San Martino. Assisi, Gubbio and San Marino are easily reached for daily excursions.

The apartments, named after the composer "Rossini" and "Verdi", consist in a brick layed kitchen with den, one bedroom which sleeps 3, and a bathroom. Both are tastefully decorated with traditional Tuscan style furniture, television, telephone and the Rossini also includes a fireplace
