General Information
The residential compound of medieval origin stands in the village of Pieve a Presciano. There are apartments of different sizes on various floors of the ancient building, which is in the garden of the Ghezzi's Farm.
The entrance to the compound is through a characteristic and peaceful courtyard leading to one wide living room where guests can play the piano as well as Billiards. The residential compound has also a private garden and a swimming pool.
Guests of the Filanda can use the swimming pool and Tennis court situated at 500 mt. in the center of the farmhouse. The building "Filanda" ("silk-mill") was built at the beginning of the 1900's for the production of silk (very important in the area of Valdarno 70/80 years ago).
The "silk-mill" ("Filanda") is situated nearly 500 mt. from the village of Pieve a Presciano - comune of Pergine Valdarno - in the province of Arezzo (Tuscany). This ancient building was restored and divided in 5 large lofts of 200 mt. each: 3 on the ground floor and 2 an the first floor.
The silk-mill is divided into 5 large and luminous lofts immersed in the quiet and loveliness of the Tuscan country among Arezzo (20 Km), Florence (55 Km) and Siena (20 Km). All lofts are comprehensive of accurate rebuilt bath-rooms supplied with hot running water; they are furnished with kitchens and bedrooms.
There is also a laundry room for guests own use and telephon. Possibility to stay in Ghezzi Farmhouse or Filanda and participate in cooking classes of the famous "Susanna Ferrini" (I.A.C.P.) at the La Scuola di Cucina, in one beautiful old Villa at 20 minutes from Ghezzi Farmhouse, or for group directly in Pieve a Presciano at the Ghezzi Farmhouse. The building Filanda (silk-mill) with yours big spaces its adapt also for well organize courses of Art, meeting, kitchen, ecc.
