General Information
Lying on the top of a hill, the farmhouse dominates the Tuscan Tiber Valley and is mirrored in the water of Lake Montedoglio. The view of the valley from Le Ceregne is breathtaking and unforgettable, it's like an artful palette where the colours of arts and nature are gracefully blended.
Le Ceregne is a 60 hectare estate cultivated according to the principles of organic farming. Here fine varieties of olive trees and fruit trees are grown, in particular cherry trees (after which the estate is named) and some varieties of apple and pear trees that have always been grown in this area but are now dying.
The estate also includes a vineyard , where Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes are grown, and a chestnut wood. Other crops cultivated on a rotation basis are sunflowers, wheat, barley and fodder. Another line of business at Le Ceregne is pig farming , but also poultry is reared, and in particular hens, geese, ducks, turkeys and guinea-fouls.
