 General Information

The name of the cottage "Campo Romano" takes its origin from the place where Roman Legionaries are believed to have settled their camp during the battle against Hannibal near the Trasimeno Lake (217 B.C.)

The cottage, entirely built with stones in the 17th century, belongs to the Fabbri Farm that bought it in 1861

Lying in the valley of Montanare, at 7 Km from Cortona, 37 from Arezzo, 47 from Perugia, 70 from Siena, and 98 from Florence, Campo Romano is surrounded by hills covered by olive groves, vineyards and Mediterranean flora.

For this reason it is the ideal place where you can spend a vacation in a traditional country cottage away from noise, traffic and the chaos of the everyday life in the city.

Although it conserves its original structure and the features of a farmhouse, the cottage was entirely renovated and, as far as possible, adapted to today’s requirements.

The first flat is on the first floor and consist of a living room with a big fire place and a Kitchenette. A passage links the living room to two bedrooms and a bathroom. The floor of the flat is done in terracotta tiles of the Tuscan region. Some walls have been whitened while others still have stone masonry.

The second flat is on the grand floor. It consists of a large living room with fireplace and a door which looks out on the garden, a kitchen, two rooms with two beds and a bathroom with shower.

The garden, almost ready, is windy and has a panoramic view.

The surface of the Farm measures 37 hectares which are cultivated with vineyards (16 hectares), olive groves (8 hectares), sowable land (3 hectares) and what remains with wood.

This farm, a family business, is sensitive to the environment. It’s products have been partly converted to a more biological production, especially as far as the olive groves are concerned. Moreover the cultivation of vineyards follows the standard of the E.E.C. norm nr. 2078 which refers to a low impact on the environment.
