General Information
La Scheggia has belonged to our family for generations. The complex was restored in the '70s in order to accommodate foreign international guests interested in discovering the natural and cultural beauty of the region.
The estate original main house was divided into eight independent flats that have access to the vast garden. There are also three separate houses available for single families. All accommodations are completely furnished and have a kitchen.T
he architecture of the buildings is typical of Tuscany, the houses are built of local stone, with brick floors and ceilings; the frames of the windows and the fireplaces are made of Pietra Serena.
La Scheggia is at the summit of the hills that separate the Arno valley from the Tiber valley, in an area of abundant oak woods. The wild nature of this region, that inspired characters such as Saint Francis who often passed nearby, and the painter Piero della Francesca who was born and lived in Sansepolcro (15 km), combined with its stategic location, makes La Scheggia an ideal base for day trips to the most important art cities in Tuscany and Umbria.
